As the misty rain brought the biting cold of winter to Nàn Xỉn commune’s school in Ha Giang, the sight of students huddled together, their faces smudged, shivering as Tet approached, deeply moved the KEIEIJUKU Community’s CSR Committee delegation. That was our initial feeling upon arriving at the main campus of Nàn Xỉn Primary School, Xin Man District, Ha Giang Province, during our recent charity trip on January 14-15, 2024.

Nàn Xỉn commune, a border area in Xin Man District, Ha Giang, is home to seven ethnic groups. Life for the local people is extremely difficult due to geographical isolation. Consequently, the journey to literacy for the more than 440 students across 1 main campus and 7 satellite points of Nàn Xỉn Semi-Boarding Ethnic Primary School is fraught with challenges.

The journey to this school was far from easy, covering nearly 400km and over 10 hours of travel, with the delegation frequently having to disembark through seemingly impassable sections of the road. However, driven by the spirit of “all for the community” and encouraged by many members back home, we ultimately overcame the journey to bring small gifts to the children. These included mattresses, blankets, warm clothes, socks, toothbrushes, and pretty pens. We understand that the gifts the KEIEIJUKU Community brought today may not provide a complete and long-term solution for the children’s lives, but they will somewhat help them experience warmer winters and more comfortable sleeps at school, thereby improving their health to strive in their studies and grow up to build a strong and prosperous Vietnam.
The journey to Nàn Xỉn, Xin Man, and Ha Giang was part of the CSR Committee’s year-end 2023 and early 2024 programs. A day before this trip, the CSR Committee also undertook an equally long journey to visit, offer gifts, and extend Tet wishes to over 230 disadvantaged patients at two leprosy hospitals: Ba Sao in Ha Nam and Van Mon in Thai Binh.

We – those directly participating in these journeys – are merely extended arms of the generous hearts of the esteemed entrepreneurs within our KEIEIEJUKU Community. These meaningful programs are made possible by the collective contributions of benefactors to the community’s CSR fund over the past years. The CSR Committee extends its sincere gratitude to all distinguished individuals.
As shared by Mr. Chu Hoang Tung, Head of the CSR Committee: “2023 was an extremely difficult year for the national economy in general, and for KEIEIJUKU businesses in particular. However, we are still fortunate to be warm, well-fed, and live in comfortable conditions. Therefore, if we can share with the community, with the less fortunate lives out there, whether little or much, we will give our all for it.”

The KEIEIJUKU Community’s CSR journey continues to be written, with disadvantaged lives still awaiting our sharing and companionship. We look forward to seeing you in meaningful upcoming trips.
