Immediately after the fundraising period, the CSR Committee promptly conducted surveys in various localities, focusing particularly on households severely affected by Super Typhoon Yagi. Following a thorough assessment, Lao Cai was selected as the priority location for support, with the aim of helping residents rebuild their homes after the storm.
On October 31st, 2024, the CSR Committee organized a volunteer delegation to visit the affected households in Lao Cai. The trip also received contributions and cooperation from the Northern Steel Structures Association.
The delegation directly provided assistance to 21 families whose homes were completely collapsed in Trinh Tuong commune, Bat Xat district, Lao Cai province, with a support level of 20 million VND per household. Of this amount, the Keieijuku Community contributed 15 million VND and the Northern Steel Structures Association contributed 5 million VND to each household.
On the afternoon of the same day, the delegation continued to visit Mr. Then Van Ngan’s household in Nam Hu village, Coc Ly commune, Bac Ha district – a family in extremely difficult circumstances due to the impact of Super Typhoon Yagi. Here, the delegation provided 50 million VND to the family for house construction and post-storm recovery.
Additionally, the delegation conducted a survey to support the construction of a new house for Ms. Nguyen Thi Ung in Nam Cut village, Xuan Quang commune, Bao Thang district. The CSR Committee worked closely with local authorities and charity focal points to prepare a detailed construction estimate. The total estimated cost for house construction and the purchase of some essential household equipment is approximately 175 million VND. This amount will be disbursed in installments according to the construction progress, and the house is expected to be completed for Ms. Ung by the end of December 2024.
This nearly 24-hour volunteer trip provided unforgettable experiences for the 12 members of the delegation. The challenging roads and difficulties encountered during the journey further highlighted the delegation’s spirit of overcoming adversity and unity.
Even though many businesses within the Community are currently facing numerous difficulties, the spirit of mutual support and compassion among esteemed Keiers continues to be strongly promoted. The program “KEIEIJUKU Vietnam Joins Hands to Help People Affected by Super Typhoon Yagi” is a prime example of the meaningful work that the Community has been and continues to do for society. Thanks to this collective effort, meals for many families have become warmer, and the sleep of many children has become more peaceful.
Once again, on behalf of the CSR Committee and the affected people who received support, we would like to express our profound gratitude to all esteemed members of the Keieijuku Vietnam Community. Your spirit of “Living in life needs a heart, for the wind to carry away…” is a source of inspiration for spreading kindness.
